ARTISTS STATEMENT

Jacqueline’s work has often been described as retro with a modern twist. Mid Century Modern Design has influenced her work for some time and her passion for pattern stems from  textile designers of the era such as Lucienne Day and Ray Eames. Jacquelines surface pattern designs lend themselves to a variety of artworks and she is currently experimenting on new materials such as metal and glass. Her designs range from liner sci fi atomic patterns to bold primitive shapes which have an element of whimsical humor and an air of optimism about them.

Her commercial client list includes: JD Weatherspoons, M Modern Gallery USA, Kelly’s Market Place USA, Firstsite, Essex County Council, The Gardens of Easton Lodge, The London Garden Show, First Great Eastern Railways, Tom Cody design US, The Walker Art Gallery, Port Sunlight Museum, to name a few. With her extensive experience with leading workshops  Jacqueline has led projects for children and adults of all abilities in schools, museums and galleries across the county and is currently undertaken a  on year long residency with Essex County Council on the Reggio Emilia Approach with their early years groups and pre schools across Essex and  she will be also adapting the Norwegian Forrest School practice in conjunction with Essex Wildlife Trust.
