ARTISTS STATEMENT
Materials led artist working in textiles and salvage. Textures and materials are my starting point. The flotsam and jetsam of life harbour worn qualities that I enjoy. Much of my work is a collation of reappropriated fragments that consider past. I create visual archaeologies that afford the viewer glimpses of stories hidden amongst layers of ephemera. Seeking out and rejuvenating discarded objects and materials is key to my work and, in a contemporary context, I endeavour to breathe a unique beauty back into them.
